Walking on Main Street in downtown Lake Placid is a dream. You can easily see why this area was selected to host both the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Winter games. Quaint shops and beautiful buildings line the downtown streets of the walkable town. It could be a scene from a painting.

No trip is complete without a visit to the local library. The Lake Placid Public Library is a gem!

As a two-time host of the Winter Olympics, you can visit a museum and several training and competition sites. We took a gondola ride to the top of the ski jumping complex, and tried to imagine launching off the top. It is awe-inspiring.
