Fort Ticonderoga

Fort Ticonderoga

September 25, 2024

High on the hill where Lake Champlain and Lake George meet, the French first built Fort Ticonderoga in 1755. It served a key role in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. It was a gorgeous sunny day as we explored the area.

We got to experience an impressive reenactment of the British soldiers firing cannons.

We walked around the fort and visited the soldiers’ stone barracks.

My favorite area was the King’s Gardens. The gardens were used to produce all the food needed for residents of the fort. It is still an active garden today.

Such rich history in this blog. The fort built in 1755 and in such great shape. And the park you are in now, super special. I love your blogs. Love you, Dad
