Another great place to visit in Woodstock, Vermont, is the Marsh – Billings – Rockefeller National Historic Park. The property was passed down through generations beginning with George Marsh. He wrote Man and Nature about humans’ impact on the environment, and is known today as the father of the conservation movement.

We walked through the beautiful mansion that was built by the Marsh family in 1805. Then we were able to tour the nearby Billings Farm, which was established in 1871 and became famous for its Jersey cows and sustainable farming practices. The 1890 Farm Manager’s House is also open.
